Bhurkas
Former unit of the Grin.

Origins
After years of conflict the Grin had ravaged every alliance town at least once. Hostility between the Grin and the Alliance, while still existing, began to die down. Lethargy was setting in amongst the ranks. To fix this Gorfrunch decided to pit the Grin against the only opponent he knew would be a challenge, themselves.
Soon after the Grin was split into three units:
- Bhurkas
- Bashblackas
- Stormfist
Each unit was led by a different warlord. The objective of these units was to micro manage the Grin and train them into a tactical force to be reckoned with. The units were tested in Gurubashi every week in a tournament. The winning unit would be able to decide where to raid next.
Beginning Goals
Faquarl told every recruit how difficult the life of a Bhurka would be. He gave them a clear list of things he was going to work on with them.
- Gearing up through dungeons
- Gearing up through Battlegrounds
- Working as a unit
The beginning days tested the unit and many dropped out early. Those that remained, however would soon see the fruits of their labor.
Tournaments and Suspicions of Cheating
The Bhurkas learned quickly and it showed in the tournament. Before each tournament, Faquarl would gather his unit up and deliver a motivational speech. The tournaments pitted the two teams who lost the week beforehand against each other first. They fought three matches, the last unit standing would be declared the winner. The winner of that match fought the seeded champions for three matches. The winner of that struggle would be the victor of the tournament.
Faquarl studied the behaviors of both units and encouraged his members to do the same. When the tournaments were finally abolished, Faquarl's unit had gone near undefeated. This had turned many moods sour and a few Grin felt that the Bhurkas were cheating. They felt that the Bhurkas severely out-geared the other units and their methods were deceptive.
Regardless of the allegations, the Bhurkas remained in the Hall of Fame as one of the strongest groups within the Grin, most former members even becoming Sythegar soon after.
