History

Thus, the Midnight Reveries were born. Five complete strangers emerged as five founding Lords: Lantern, Lord of Craftsmanship and Trade - Alcantara, Lord of Champions - Peyth, Lord of World Politics - Ergluth, Lord of World Warfare - and Dreamer, the Overlord.

The Reveries are devout believers in the power of dreams. They believe that events of the past, as well as events yet to transpire, may be forecasted or revisted in deep reverie. Dreams allow the mind to accomplish things not thought possible in the physical world. Boundaries become transparent. Limitations become void. While everyone has dreams, not everyone has the ablility to interpret them. The Reveries reflect deeply on their visions, often falling into long periods of deep meditation. Some view such behavior as paranormal, or evil, but The Reveries view their ablilities as a blessing from God, and feel it is their righteous duty to fulfill his calling.

Home base

Aerie Peak used to serve as the official guild headquarters of Midnight Reveries.

The Peak is the home of the Wildhammer Dwarves, a faction that broke off from the rest of Dwarven society after the War of the Three Hammers. Because of the horrific underground battles the Wildhammers were forced to fight against the Dark Iron Dwarves during the war, the Wildhammers chose to build most of their dwellings above ground, instead of burrowing into the mountain as is typical of Dwarven designs.

The Dwarves of Aerie Peak are master Gryphon riders, and their contributions to the Alliance during war cannot be overstated.

MR's departure from Stormwind perhaps came at a good time. It turns out that the Wildhammer outpost in Shadowmoon Valley requested more troops in response to increased hostilities in and around The Black Temple. Fighting on two fronts was a taxing feat, and being neutral did not help the Wildhammer cause. This is where The Midnight Reveries came in.

In exchange for quarterage, the Reveries were to assist the Wildhammer Clan in protecting The Peak and surrounding territories, while also helping to maintain the grounds. It was a simple and fairly straightforward agreement, yet one which would surely prove to have a heavy and immediate impact on the war.

Relationship to the Grin

During Shadows Over Khaz Modan the Grin stood nearly unopposed the the destruction of the Dwarven Region of the Eastern Kingdoms. The Reveries likely would have only been a bystander to the destruction had the campaign not begun on their very doorstep. The Grin began their campaign on their very home Aerie Peak. The Wildhammer Dwarves were crushed and the Reveries fought intensely to maintain a presence. The battle ended with the Reveries displaced however.

From this point on the Reveries held the banner against the Grin and became their military rival for the majority of the campaign. ZHalfway through when it became clear the Grin was intent on conquest, the Reveries declared war. This war never ended, however it has lulled as of late. The Reveries attention turning toward the Lich King.
